 NEFC Bogan Division Offensive Player of the Year Christian George scored the only Coast Guard touchdown, but left the game in the third quarter with an injury. MILTON, MASS.--(11/10/07)--Coast Guard which has made a living on winning the close ones over the past two seasons finally came up on the short end as senior David Lieberman's 46-yard field goal on the final play of the game was partially blocked giving Curry a 10-7 win in the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Championship Game. The Colonels win their fifth straight conference championship and earn the automatic bid to the NCAA playoffs.
Coast Guard which won its second straight NEFC Bogan Division championship, finishes the season 8-2. The Bears have not applied for consideration to an ECAC Bowl game this season. |

 Sophomore Pat Bennett was mistakenly left off the All-division team released by the conference on Thursday. He was named to the second team. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/9/07)--Coast Guard Academy sophomore defensive back Pat Bennett was mistakenly omitted from the NEFC Bogan Division All-Division release sent out by the league office yesterday.
Bennett was named to the second team. He is fourth on the team with 54 tackles, 42 solo to go with his two interceptions.
He brings the Coast Guard total to 13 All-Bogan Division selections, 10 on the first team and three on the second team. |

 Senior center Matt Krueger was one of three Bears named to the Academic All-district team. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/9/07)--The Coast Guard Academy football team which has enjoyed tremendous success on the field this season, had three student-athletes honored for their work in the classroom as senior Matt Krueger and juniors Niles Pierson and Brian Yurovich were all named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District I football second team as chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Krueger, an NEFC Bogan Division first team All-division selection, is the starting center for the Bears, who lead the nation with just six sacks allowed. Matt has a 3.23 GPA as a Government major. |

 Senior quarterback Christian George earned Bogan Division Offensive Player of the Year honors for the second straight season. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/8/07)--Senior quarterback Christian George was named the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Bogan Division Offensive Player of the Year for the second straight season as Coast Guard won three major awards and placed 12 players on the All-division team as voted on by the eight head coaches in the Bogan Division.
Coast Guard, in its second season in the NEFC, won its second straight Bogan Division championship with a perfect 7-0 record. The Bears are now 14-0 over the past two seasons in the division.
Senior left guard Nick Hartmann was named the Offensive Lineman of the Year as the Bears lead the nation with just six sacks allowed while head coach Bill George, in his ninth season, was named the Bogan Division Coach of the Year for the first time. |
