Football - Bears Place Four on All-East region team

Jesse Harms earned All-East honors for the third straight season.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(12/10/07)--The New England Football Conference (NEFC) Bogan Division champion Coast Guard Academy had four players named to the D3football.com All-East region team as voted on by the region’s sports information directors and the D3football.com staff.

Senior guard Nick Hartmann, senior center Matt Krueger and senior punter Jesse Harms were all named to the first team while senior kicker David Lieberman was named to the third team.

Football - Harms, Hartmann Named to FB Writers All-NE team

Senior punter Jesse Harms was named to the N.E. Football Writers Division II/III All-New England team for the second straight season.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/16/07)--New England Football Conference (NEFC) Bogan Division champion Coast Guard senior punter Jesse Harms and senior offensive lineman Nick Hartmann were both named to the 2007 New England Football Writers Division II/III All-New England team.

The team consists of 28 players representing 19 different teams.

Harms, who was named to the team for the second straight season and for the third time in his career, led the NEFC with a 40.7 yard average and earned first team All-league honors for the fourth straight season, two in the Liberty League and two in the NEFC.

Football - Yurovich Named NEFC Defensive Player of the Week

Junior linebacker Brian Yurovich was named the NEFC Defensive Player of the Week as he and the Bears held Curry to 10 points in the NEFC Championship Game.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/12/07)--Coast Guard Academy junior linebacker Brian Yurovich has been named the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Bears 10-7 loss to Curry in the NEFC Championship Game.

Yurovich, a second-team All-Bogan Division selection this season, had a huge game as he totaled 11 tackles, eight solo, two for loss, two sacks, an interception and a forced fumble as the Coast Guard defense held Curry, which was averaging a league-best 41.5 points per game, to just 10 points.

Football - Gutty, Gritty Bears Fall Short in NEFC Championship Game

NEFC Bogan Division Offensive Player of the Year Christian George scored the only Coast Guard touchdown, but left the game in the third quarter with an injury.
MILTON, MASS.--(11/10/07)--Coast Guard which has made a living on winning the close ones over the past two seasons finally came up on the short end as senior David Lieberman's 46-yard field goal on the final play of the game was partially blocked giving Curry a 10-7 win in the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Championship Game. The Colonels win their fifth straight conference championship and earn the automatic bid to the NCAA playoffs.

Coast Guard which won its second straight NEFC Bogan Division championship, finishes the season 8-2. The Bears have not applied for consideration to an ECAC Bowl game this season.
