 Junior co-captain Tessa Knott is the top returner on a young Coast Guard team. Coast Guard will be a very young team this season as the Bears have a freshman class of 11 runners, some of whom are expected to make immediate contributions to an inexperienced team.
The Bears top returner is junior co-captain Tessa Knott, who missed last season’s New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championship meet due to injury.
Coast Guard also returns four solid runners in seniors, co-captain Charlotte Delorey and Gwen English along with sophomores Colin Fall and Kathryn Gilligan. |

 Sara Mcguigan was third overall to earn All-ECAC honors for the first time in her career. WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS.--(11/03/07)--Senior Sara Mcguigan was third overall to earn All-ECAC honors for the first time in her careeer as defending ECAC champion Coast Guard placed 7th of 31 teams at the ECAC Division III Championships at Williams College.
Mcguigan finished the 6,000 meter course with a time of 23:10 seven seconds behind Katie Moravec from Amherst, who won the race. |

 Tessa Knott was one of three women's cross country runners named to the Academic All-conference team. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/31/07)--The Coast Guard Academy placed three student athletes on the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Academic All-conference team.
Junior Gwen English (Operations Research/Computer Analysis) and sophomores Tessa Knott (Mechanical Engineering) and Bryce Van Cleef (Marine and Environmental Science) were the three runners honored for Coast Guard.
Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2007 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season. |

 Senior Sara Mcguigan earned All-conference honors for the first time. NORTHAMPTON, MASS.--(10/27/07)--Senior Sara Mcguigan (19:56.80)placed 11th overall to earn All-conference honors for the first time as the Bears placed 7th at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships hosted by Smith College.
Coast Guard, the defending NEWMAC champions, were 40 points ahead of eighth place Clark and 27 points behind sixth place Springfield.
