Women's Cross Country - Mcguigan Earns All-ECAC Honors

Sara Mcguigan was third overall to earn All-ECAC honors for the first time in her career.
WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS.--(11/03/07)--Senior Sara Mcguigan was third overall to earn All-ECAC honors for the first time in her careeer as defending ECAC champion Coast Guard placed 7th of 31 teams at the ECAC Division III Championships at Williams College.

Mcguigan finished the 6,000 meter course with a time of 23:10 seven seconds behind Katie Moravec from Amherst, who won the race.

Women's Cross Country - Bears Place Trio on NEWMAC Academic All-Conference team

Tessa Knott was one of three women's cross country runners named to the Academic All-conference team.
NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/31/07)--The Coast Guard Academy placed three student athletes on the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference Women’s Cross Country Academic All-conference team.

Junior Gwen English (Operations Research/Computer Analysis) and sophomores Tessa Knott (Mechanical Engineering) and Bryce Van Cleef (Marine and Environmental Science) were the three runners honored for Coast Guard.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2007 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

Women's Cross Country - Mcguigan Earns All-Conference Honors; Bears Place 7th

Senior Sara Mcguigan earned All-conference honors for the first time.
NORTHAMPTON, MASS.--(10/27/07)--Senior Sara Mcguigan (19:56.80)placed 11th overall to earn All-conference honors for the first time as the Bears placed 7th at the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Championships hosted by Smith College.

Coast Guard, the defending NEWMAC champions, were 40 points ahead of eighth place Clark and 27 points behind sixth place Springfield.

Women's Cross Country - Bears Dominate in Win over Mitchell
WATERFORD, CONN.--(10/20/07)--Junior Gwen English placed first as Coast Guard took the top four spots in beating Mitchell 16-43 in a dual meet.

Junior Charlotte Delorey (22:41) was just one second behind English while freshman Colin Fall was third and senior Adelaide Perr was fourth.

Also for Coast Guard, freshman Meg Zehringer was sixth and senior Emily Hartmann was seventh.
