NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/5/11)--Junior Keriann Mason had ten kills and seven digs leading Coast Guard to a 3-0 win over Wesleyan in a DIG PINK game to honor those who have survived cancer, those who are currently fighting it and those who will experience it.
Coast Guard, wearing its special pink uniforms for the match, won by game scores of 25-13, 25-17, 25-17 to improve to 13-4 on the season. Wesleyan dropped to 4-11 overall.
The Bears jumped out to a 9-3 lead in the opening game and pushed the lead to nine at 17-8. Coast Guard maintained that advantage leading 22-13 before senior Fallon Bowers came on to serve the final three points to close out the game. |

 Nick Martin won at #3 singles and #2 doubles for the Bears. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/5/11)--Coast Guard won all six singles matches and two of three doubles matches to improve to 3-1 on the season with an 8-1 win over Nichols in a non-conference matchup, the Bears final match of the Fall portion of the schedule.
Greg Mitchell won at #1 singles 6-2, 6-1, Blake Maurer won at #2 singles, 6-2, 6-3, Nick Martin won 6-2, 6-4 at #3 singles, Josh Fischer won 6-4, 6-1 at #4 singles, Chris Hoffman was victorious 6-4, 6-4 at #5 singles while David Blystone won 6-2, 6-1 at #6 singles for the Bears. |

 Catherine Walker led the balanced Coast Guard attack in the win. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/4/11)--Junior Catherine Walker had nine kills, six digs and a pair of aces leading a balanced Coast Guard attack as the Bears snapped WPI’s winning streak at eight with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-14, 25-17) win in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match.
Coast Guard started off fast scoring the first seven points in the first game behind the serving of freshman Kelsey Hickle and increased the lead to 15-2. WPI would get as close as ten on four different occasions the last being 18-8 before the Bears scored seven of the final ten points for the 25-11 win.
The second game started the exact same way as the Bears raced out to a 7-0 lead, this time behind the serving of sophomore Sam Marmolejo. WPI fought back cutting the lead to 10-6 and trailed 13-11 before Coast Guard ran off 12 for the next 15 to win the game 25-14. |

The Coast Guard Academy Division of Athletics has teamed with Boathouse Sports to bring to you the first ever team store.
The store allows you to buy custom Coast Guard Academy Athletics gear with the proceeds benefitting the Athletics Division.
You can visit the store now by CLICKING HERE
All products are custom built and produced after the store closes and will be shipped no later than November 14th.
The team store is open now and will close on Monday, Oct. 24th.
“This is an exciting opportunity for parents, alumni and friends of Coast Guard Academy Athletics to purchase quality merchandise and benefit our entire Athletics program at the same time,” said Coast Guard Academy Director of Athletics Tim Fitzpatrick. “We plan on opening the team store several times during the year giving everyone an opportunity to purchase and support our athletic program.”
