 Keriann Mason had 13 kills and 14 digs to lead the Bears past Trinity. NEW LONDON, CONN.--(10/19/11)--Junior Keriann Mason had 13 kills and 14 digs while sophomore Kelsey DePorto also had 13 kills leading Coast Guard, ranked sixth in New England, to a 3-1 win over Trinity in a non-conference match.
The Bears, who have won five straight and eight of their last nine matches, won by game scores of 25-16, 21-25, 25-22 and 25-18 to improve to 19-5 overall while Trinity dropped its third straight to dip to 13-6 on the season.
Freshman Kelsey Hickle added 12 kills and four aces while sophomore Sam Marmolejo had a team-high 21 digs in the win for Coast Guard.
Coast Guard jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the opening game, took its largest lead of the game 16-8, and scored six of the final eight points for a 25-16 win. |
