Jarrod Owens will lead the Coast Guard offense this season. Coast Guard returns 15 starters, seven on offense, six on defense, the punter and kicker, from last season as it looks to retain the Secretaries’ Cup for the first time since 1997 when the Bears beat Merchant Marine for the third straight season.
The Bears and head coach Bill George, entering his 13th season, will look to bounce back from a disappointing season a year ago when the team finished 2-7 overall and 1-6 in the Bogan Division of the New England Football Conference (NEFC).
Senior tri-captain Jarrod Owens and junior Jon Resch will compete for the starting quarterback job, but both will see plenty of playing time regardless of who starts. Sophomore Aaron Corn has also developed into a good young quarterback and could see some time this season. |
