Pete begins his 18th season as head coach at Coast Guard and his 26th overall as a college head coach.
Pete is CGA’s all-time winningest coach with an 17-year record of 226-196 and a 377-295 overall record. He led the Bears to their first NCAA tournament appearance since 1979 last season.
Barry led his alma mater the University of San Francisco to a 49-13 record and back to back NCAA Tournament Appearances in 1980 and 1981.
Prior to coming to the Coast Guard Academy, Barry was head coach at Southern Oregon for six years. He posted a 102-86 record, the best winning percentage in school history and led the team to the playoffs three times.
Barry is a past President of the New England Basketball Coaches Association and has served on several NCAA committees.
Pete’s daughter Melissa is a senior at Keene State and his son Casey graduated Fitch High School in June.
