United States Coast Guard Academy - Department of Athletics

This will be Andrea’s 15th year working with the women’s program. Growing up in Quaker Hill, Conn., Andrea was a 12-letter, four sport standout at St. Bernard High in Uncasville. She ran cross country and track and played basketball and softball. Andrea was recently inducted into the St Bernard High School Athletic Hall of Fame for Basketball and Softball.

Gaines is a 1986 graduate of Springfield College where she played softball and received a degree in Physical Education. She earned a Master of Science in Business Management from the Hartford Graduate Center.

In addition to her responsibilities with the women’s basketball program Andrea also assists with the fall Softball program at the Academy and is the varsity softball coach at her alma mater St Bernard High School in Uncasville, Conn. Andrea is currently the managing member of her own company “Jane of All Trades, LLC”.
