Coast Guard Academy junior All-American Adam Scalesse has been
named the CGASPORTS.COM Athlete of the Week for his performance at
the All-New England Championships at Boston University.
In the championship meet consisting of athletes from Division I, II and III Scalesse broke the school record in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.11 to place eighth earning All-New England honors. He was also the top Division III finisher in the event. He earns All-New England honors in the event for the second straight season at the meet after placing seventh last year with a time of 8.25.
This past weekend, he also anchored the 4x400 relay and ran a season-best 48.8 as the team posted a season-best time of 3:20.98.
Scalesse’s time of 8.11 is third best in Division III this season. He will compete at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, March 8th-9th in Naperville, Ill. He earned All-America honors in the 60 meter hurdles last year with a seventh place finish (8.28) at the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships.
