Sophomore Justin Moffatt has been named the CGASPORTS.COM Athlete of the Week, presented by First Command, as he did a little bit of everything and finished with 290 yards of total offense in the Bears 38-35 win over Norwich to retain The Mug.
Moffatt had 10 receptions for a career-high 178 yards and a touchdown. He carried three times for 36 yards and also threw one pass, a 76 yard completion to setup Coast Guard’s first down giving the Bears a 16-7 second quarter lead.
He had two huge receptions on 4th down on the final drive of the game to keep the Bears alive. Ryan Jones would complete a 12-yard pass to sophomore Justin Moffatt on 4th and 6 from the Coast Guard 28, a 13-yard pass to Moffatt on 4th and 8 from the Norwich 19.
Moffatt has three games with 100 or more receiving yards this season and leads the NEWMAC with 30 receptions and 441 receiving yards.
Coast Guard is off to a 3-1 start for the second straight season and the sixth time in the last 30 years. The Bears will take their longest road trip of the season this week as they head to Washington, D.C. to take on Catholic at 1:00.
