Meggers & Resch Named Co-Athletes of the Week

Seniors Jon Resch and Pat Meggers were named CGASPORTS.COM Co-Athletes of the Week for their record breaking performances in the Bears 59-0 win over Fitchburg State on Saturday.

The senior duo hooked up on a school-record long 96-yard touchdown pass, one of the Bears four third quarter touchdowns in the win.

Resch was 27 of 37 for 391 yards with three passing touchdowns while also running for a touchdown, all in the third quarter. Meggers had a record setting day as he finished with seven receptions for a school-record 211 receiving yards and a school-record long 96-yard touchdown reception .

The previous school-record for longest pass play was in 1998 when Dave Yadrick hit Tom Wallin for 88 yards vs. Mass. Maritime. Wallin also saw his single-game record of 188 receiving yards in that game broken by Meggers in the Homecoming win on Saturday.
