Mason named CGASPORTS.COM Athlete of the Week

Coast Guard Academy senior outside hitter Keriann Mason has been named the CGASPORTS.COM Athlete of the Week as she led the Bears to a perfect 3-0 week, three home wins, running the Bears home win streak to 25 straight, one shy of the school record.

Mason led the way last week with 36 kills and 38 digs and a pair of blocks as Coast Guard recorded wins over Clark, Roger Williams and Salve Regina.

She leads the team with 209 kills, which ranks her seventh in the NEWMAC with 2.82 per game, and she is second on the team with 236 digs. Coast Guard is 13-8 overall and 3-2 in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC).

The Bears are back in action at Smith tonight before travelling to Bowdoin this weekend for a trio of matches beginning with host Bowdoin on Friday night at 7:30 p.m.
